IND Masters vs SL MASTERS Match Prediction & Analysis

With games also to be played in Vadodara and Raipur, the 2025 International Masters League looks set to bring an excellent product around India from 22 February to 16 March.

Six teams will contest the tournament with Masters sides from Australia, England, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies all involved!

This clash between India Masters and Sri Lanka immediately puts two of the greatest batters of the game against each other with Sachin Tendulkar captaining the hosts and Kumar Sangakkara skippering the Sri Lanka Masters.

Many of the top batters will still have a wide range of shots and have the ability to find the gaps and we expect the former pace bowlers to show up on a lesser level than when they were at their best.

However, no matter what players take the field, this looks set to be a brilliant inaugural tournament.

TEAMS PREVIEW

India Masters Preview

With one of the greatest icons in the history of cricket captaining India Masters, we expect to see Sachin Tendulkar given the opportunity to bat throughout the 20 overs of this game. At the top of the order, we expect him to be joined by the stylish left-hander Suresh Raina which should allow the hosts to get off to a strong start!

As with many players who have long-retired, Yuvraj Singh has plenty of business interests and recently launched a range of drinks, but we expect him to have lost none of his batting skills which used to see him plundering world class attacks to the fence on a regular basis. And let's not forget that he once hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during a T20I!

If there is any movement through the air then we expect Stuart Binny to be able to exploit it. He once took 6/4 in an ODI against Bangladesh and he will be very accurate.

Sri Lanka Masters Preview

As with their opponents in this game, Sri Lanka have the advantage of their captain still being in good shape and he will surely still be capable of plenty of stylish drives with his left-hander's flourish! Kumar Sangakkara is likely to open the innings for his side and we expect to see him come out to the middle with Upul Tharanga as his opening partner.

Asela Gunaratne is another capable batter with the likes of Romesh Kaluwitharana and Nuwan Pradeep likely to offer runs down the order if required in this opening game of the tournament.

With the ball, left-arm medium pacer Isuru Udana will find movement off the pitch and through the air but he will need assistance from the likes of Chinthaka Jayasinghe and Suranga Lakmal.

According to the weather forecast it will be a very warm day in Navi Mumbai with the temperature expected to be up at 37 degrees earlier in the day. By the time the game gets underway, the temperature will still be over 30 degrees.
